my friend always has panic attacks and im not sure how to help :(
In what kind of situations he/she gets a panic attack?

You should ask them to consult a therapist if they can afford it.
Otherwise, exercises like breathing exercises, grounding (focusing on senses) and mindfulness might help them. You can look up basics on the internet.
