My father gets a lot angry at my grandfather. He often yells at him and calls him bad words. Just recently, he had also slapped him. Things were much worse before. He had beaten him a lot about two years ago, things had gotten a little bloody. My grandfather had to hide himself in the bathroom to protect himself. I had only came to know this after coming back from school. I was a lot angry at him and hated him from the bottom of my heart for that. He apologized at that time. But he still has not mended his ways
I love my grandfather a lot and i can’t bear to see all this. I am just a student, if i try to make him understand, he also physically and mentally abuses me. Its such a torture. What should i do? I want him to get better and that there are no fights and there is peace in my family

Well, my mother had left after my birth. No one told me the reason, but i guess it must be due to his violent personality.
I don’t know why you asked where Im from but I’m from punjab…
He understands sometimes but forgets the next day. He is on medication.

Okay… if he is on medication then I guess you should try and balance things from both sides…i am sure you will be able to do that…my prayers to you for happiness.
I think you should inform police because this is too much… I don’t think he’s going to listen to anyone saying in a soft manner…I know you want this to finish in a happy manner where both your father and grandfather don’t have to suffer but after reading all these I don’t think anyone can rectify him other than police
I have thought about that too. But my father is a really soft hearted person and gets hurt easily. I like him a lot as well. The only bad thing about him is that he gets angry easily and all reason is just forgetten at tht time. Then he is super violent .
I have only thought of the police as a last resort if ever something really happens. Its partially my grandfather’s personality fault too.
You know old ppl, they love to criticize a lot. So my father really can’t bear his insults. But i guess he’s trying to improve.
He promises to be better whenever i make him understand. But most of the time he says im just preaching and that i take the side of my grandfather…
I can understand… okay then try to make your father understand…I also know that love can change anyone even a worst person…so, try to take care of your father always and never live him alone and in every conversation with him try to make him understand that what is good and what is bad and also how to control the anger… because anger can ruin everything…and I know you can do it because a daughter is the best friend of all father’s…best of luck and don’t forget to inform time to time that what is happening actually if you don’t have any problem to share … and Good evening
