My father always gets irritated and angry at small things. I’m so tired of his toxic behaviour. He is just like another Indian dad who never thinks he can be wrong. I changed my nature alot but he isn’t ready to change his nature even a bit. Today also he snapped at me without any reason but I just couldn’t take it anymore and started crying. He shouted at that too. I just lost it and said “Dad I changed my nature alot you need to change your nature too or else I don’t think we will be able to maintain a good relationship.” And I swear this can happen. What I described is just 1% of what he does. He surely fulfills all my needs and never says no for anything but he is controlling beyond the level an adult can handle. Even on smallest fights he won’t talk to me for 10-15 days even though I don’t do anything wrong. But ik I shouldn’t have said this and idk what to do now. A part of me is guilty but the other part feels that I should be able to communicate with my father atleast this much.
Honestly i have somewhat same relationship with my dad too! And i totally understand everything sucks when you fight or argue with him. From what i have learned, all you can do is ignore them and let them be. They’ll come around. Try to stay strong.

Plss don’t feel guilty . There is not ur fault . I myself am dealing with the same and i think more, they just don’t seem to understand. Only obey him when u think it’s okayy or just to show him, then just be yourself when he is not around, ik it doesn’t sound good but what to do I’m doing this for years. I jussstt can’t handle him and cant do whatever he tell me to, bas apne hisab se kaam karo and i think when I’ll be able I’ll just get away from this toxicity forever. Yaa just will keep in contact with him just for the sake that he’s my dad. THATS JUST IT
