My body is naturally thin. I have trouble gaining weight but I look healthy. I have never had throid (or any other disease), eating disorder and was never on a diet to achieve my weight.
I know this might cause some envy to other people who are trying to lose weight. Not only strangers that feel the need to shame me for my weight. Relatives and family have always been the first to the skinny-shaming game. But to them, this type of bullying expresses love and concern.
People don’t realize what they are doing is wrong.
I understand losing weight is difficult for some. But people like me are desperate to gain weight. And we too struggle with diets and workouts to achieve that goal. Others think I maintain my body by starving. So they think that by saying “eat a more” they will somehow help me.
This clearly shows how unaware people are. Everyone’s body works differently, so assuming one’s health status is foolish.
No matter what is the reasoning behind this behavior, bullying is still bullying. And we should treat it as such. Lets do a quick mental recall of how many times you’ve heard the statement, “She’s a lovely, educated girl but skinny/fat/dark/short/tall …etc"
This cycle of body-shaming comes from near & dear ones and it tend to leave behind deeper scars as the comments are made by people we love. At the end of the day, the most common course of action for parents is to ‘fix’ the so called problem.
Please… its high time to understand that it’s ok to be different. Stop judging people on the basis of their bodies.

If you can’t gain a weight then try to gain a muscle, at that way if someone body shames you you can beat the hell out of them🤣🤣.
And joking part aside i think if you’re skinny gaining muscle might help you with your confidence and also suits you.
