Like everyone says if u r determined to pursue ur dream ull work hard. My father wants me to be a doctor im not working towards it bcoz i dont want to be one. Im not working towards my dream either bcoz my dad wont allow me to pursue it. What should i do?????????😕

Just for once, grab all courage. Go n tell ur dad...but before that get urself prepared with all the facts n logics, that can convince him.

3am Thoughts

It's been a very hard day. I recently passed out of 12th grade and I was looking for undergraduate courses in literature. I have always had the desire to do something away from science or commerce. And I have nursed a genuine love towards writing and reading. But, my dad is against it. Although it may seem very nominal, its very hurtful that he believes I won't be capable of arts. I still feel quite hollow when he revealed his thoughts in the most crude, vulgar and harsh way. But, I won't ever be happy with science and commerce. Mainly because I have hugely sucked at most of my academic  subjects and authors have always been someone close to me throughout. I can't imagine myself doing anything else and being stable while doing it. I have always been a hardworker and I have devoted myself to whatever academic pursuit with all I have. It still hurts when he tells me in a derogatory way that I am, yet incapable of much of anything in that pursuit. I wish that there would be someone who would at least support me through this. Just a little. That's all I need. I am very young and I can only be so sure about what I am doing. I have always doubted myself and have had a predominantly low sef esteem. It sucks that such a small privilege is treated like a luxury. It sucks that I have to fight for things like that. I don't understand why I still live in a place where they smother hope with their own hands.

Okay so I'm a teen and I'm preparing for my jee. Till now i havent written any of my "exams" to prove myself or my worth, my parents think i dont study well, but as far as i believe in me and seeing the situations around my friends or whatever i feel I'm not that bad, like on a scale of 100% I'd say I'm between 80-90%. My dad is way too aggressive and rude, he sometimes beats me up for waking up in the morning and to study but i cant study all day like that.Like idk but i feel so much pressure and i doubt myself that I'd get into some good college or not.My dad is way too aggressive that sometimes I feel being suicidal

Hi y'all
I really need to rant here cz I've got no where to go.
I'm a 12th 2021 passout student. As any other person I also have been giving my best in JEE to score good to get hold of a good govt college in Delhi. I already have few private institutes in hand like KIIT, MIT manipal. But my parents have been putting their expectations on me ki beti jee main ke through delhi govt college se padhegi. How do I tell them that I've been scoring 55-60 marks in it? I've been lying to them that I've been getting 86-88 in the exam. And now as the time to spill the beans nears, its getting really difficult to tell them the truth. The fact that I can't really do about really messes up my mind. It's not like I didn't study. I did. But maybe the stars were not in my favor. Coming from a middle class family and having a brother in line. Ik my parents don't wanna spend 4L pee year on my tution fee when I can do the same in half the cost in a govt college. I really don't wanna live with this guilt. Cz one day they are gonna get old and they will need money for themselves also. I don't wanna take away their comfort just because I couldn't study enough to get into a good college. It's too late to think about this ik.
But I have been feeling very very low because of this.

I just feel like giving up. I have many dreams left, silly ones, but still, they are the things that keep me going. Like I want to study in S.Korea and I found a scholarship that will help me go there. My parents still don't know about this. My Maa wants me to do B. Pharma, knowing that I feel nauseous with hospital smells. I haven't talked to my father for a whole year. The reasons are reasonable and it will take me some time to tell you the reason. 

They want me to enter college with merit points and they know that I'm an average student. So, whenever there is an exam being conducted, they always say that if I fail, they will not let me study anymore. And the reason why they want me to enter college through scholarship is that they have exhausted all the money for my elder sister's education at a private college. And they want my admission to be considered at all govt. colleges, which are shit, btw.

I cannot tell them that I want to study in Korea, so I study the language secretly. It's mandatory to know the language and by giving some specific exams, I can be given some preference. If I tell them about this, they will surely tell me to back off.

But I know that if I back off, I will regret it my whole life and will hate them for the very reasons. They prefer my elder sister over me, considering that she is excellent at her studies, while I am an average student. Nobody understands that this is difficult for me. Not even my sister.

I know that the chances of me being accepted are low, but I can try, right? It's better to try now than to regret later, right?

Depression

There's no clear career path....I have completed a professional course and am very much happy with that.
But my parents keep nagging me to give exams and grab a government job. Even I wanted to do that in the past and this course was just a safety net.  Although now that I've done it, I really want to take a breather and just do my best in this field. But having given hopes to my parents, I can't bring myself to say that I don't want to give exams.
Now I can't focus anywhere, be it my work or studies.
Argghhh this life shit can be frustrating.
