It’s really good that you respect them so much, value them and care for them. And i guess you know this but i am still telling you, they are doing what they think is best for you.
But it is not right, it is justified but not right. There is a difference.
Firstly make sure the person you are in love with is THE person you want to spend your life with. Make sure he is the right person. Think from a third person’s point of view about how he treats and if he is THE one. If the answer is yes, you know what to do.
Take your time, this is the most important decision of your life. If he is the right person he isn’t going anywhere. I am repeating the same thing so many time because it is really important.
Before going against your parents become independent, show them you are a grown-up, you can make your own decisions.
You don’t owe your parents anything except the love they gave you throughout your life.
The time your parents could make your decisions is past gone. But no Indian parent gets this.
Again become independent before going against them.
And remember when you make a wrong decision in your life you can always live with it. But if you let someone else make a decision for you and it turns out to be a bad one, you will have regret it your entire life.
