Im 17 and done w my 12th standard (iit coaching), currently failing almost all my entrance exams. Everything seems to be falling apart, my dreams, my dad’s hopes, my life, everything. At this point I either have to buy a seat in any private institution or drop a year. I don’t want my dad to pay lakhs for my college. I feel i have not given my best or even near in my exams, i feel i can do it if i drop. But there are constant thoughts of “what if i fail again” “what if it was not worth it” i don’t care about what others think if i drop or not, others opinions are not a problem now. Im confused. Maybe I should just buy a seat and work hard in my engineering or maybe I should ignore the negative thoughts and go for a drop. The regret of not giving my best is and will forever eat me alive.

Take a drop if you believe that you will be consistent and will give your best. But in most cases it doesn’t goes as planned. Or you can appear in competitive exams like WBJEE or COMEDK by studying in the time left. Talk to someone whom you think can help.

Currently there are no exams left which I think I’ll clear with my current state. There’s a roller coaster of emotions I’m facing everyday. One day I’m motivated nd the other day is filled with negativity. They say you shouldn’t drop if you are doubtful. But thanks for you words :))

Oh… Same class & age 😄
I never took any coaching for jee or iit… And so I never put up hopes for it. Yet I gave wbjee in which rank was par decent. And most probably I would be doing graduation in a general subject. And even I can go for engineering if counselling provides good option. Though many of my close friends & relatives told me to take a drop, I won’t be doing so in any case.
But in your case, I feel you are determined to do engineering. And I would suggest if you are not taking decent coaching from any institution and following them from now on, don’t take a drop. It might go again in vain. And the pain would be harder. And engineering doesn’t always take lacs of rupees. My same year sister got into a not so renowned but decent college where things of 4 years would be done within 5 lacs. And if you would be worrying about campassing, let me tell you… No companies with high specs would come to any college to take your interview. You have to get those skills and apply online on your own to several companies. Getting skills does not involve with th college you get in but the amount you gain knowledge about the course.
So… I told you my opinion. You should proceed on how you feel about it. Best of luck friend ❤️
And Happy Friendship Day🫂

Heyy… Be a lil optimistic!!!
I did take a drop after 12th!!!
Nd it’s alright
I gave my best after drop!!
If you are sure that you will do even better after you take a drop nd prove yourselves in front of your family… There is nothing more relieving than that! Trust me…
Nd even after working hard for a year… The seats won’t go anywhere… You can buy the seats after a year too!!!
I m suggesting you give it a try!!!
There is nothing to lose here!
