Okay! That’s great! maybe try meditating as well! I mean you have to be stronger in yourself. Witnessing someone’s pain or feeling someone’s emotions shouldn’t affect your state of mind.

What I do when I witness something like this is, I pray to the universe that please help this person and either show him/her a way to be out of their misery or give them the strength to bear the pain.
