I think deep doown I beleive in God…don’t get me wrong though…I still don’t believe in offering milk to a stone or giving bali and in so many rituals irrespectivve of religion…but think of this way…if someone close to you gets hurt…and if there is teeny tiny chance that there is someone there sitting…who can fix things…won’t you ask him/her to fix things for you,to ease the pain of your loved…I definitely will…I just saw a liitle kid about to die(his/her condition was not good she had a fever or I don’t know I was standing pretty far from there),but someone said that there is little chance that he/she might survive…At that moment even for a few seconds I don’t know from where this tremendous amount of faith entered in my soul…I just closed my eyes and prayed…that Please god…don’t let the child die…I pray to you…Pleasee…
I don’t know what will happed to the child he/she will survive or not…but at that tym even if there is .000000001% chance that me asking to your god will save him/her…then I will pray with my whole mind and soul…
If someone close to me gets hurts…I don’t care what I find near a temple,a mosque,a gurudwara or whatever places god is supposed to be centered…I will go there I wil beg to him/her…I will…

God is there, its everywhere. On a stone, on a mountain, on a beach, in a deep sea. I am a Mountaineer and I always pray to the mountain whenever I climb. Whenever I visit a beach, I close my eyes, pray and thank that beach for showing me the beauty. In Kun Faya Kun song, “Jab kahin pe kuch nahi bhi nahi tha
Wahi tha Wahi tha”. These rituals are just decided by the people and not by the gods. God doesn’t require any rituals or offerings, god isn’t selfish but the humans are and that’s why we give offerings to the god. The real god is within us, with offering and rituals we try to convince ourselves about the sins we have done. But yes the temples, mosques, gurudwara, church is a place of worship and a place where you will find peace. Whenever I climb mountains I take name of Shiva and it gives me motivation to climb. I remember when I was stuck in a heavy snow storm on a mountain in Uttrakhand (Pangarchulla Trek) and there wasn’t any help, everything was white in front of my eyes and there were 5 more guys with me as well. I started taking the name of that mountain along with the name of Shiva. We took some baby steps and within 1 and half hour the storm faded away. Idk if its a co-incidence or my faith but yeah this really happened.

to be honest, I’m an atheist, coming from a hindu family, I really didn’t believe in god but from what happened to me last night (check out the thought on my profile) i wanted to thank whatever god is up there for saving things from not getting worse. so yeah, thanks for reminding me i’m not alone to think this way.

God for us is someone to look up to when we feel helpless, It may or may not help us but it gives us a hope in his presence and that for me is the purpose.
