I have so many dreams and goals…
I want to be a good painter, write a romance book, learn to surf, go to a Harry Styles concert, Eminem concert… many concerts…, be a good therapist, open a cute coffee shop, have abs at some point in my life… at least for a short period, I want to not be afraid to sing in public and go to karaoke, learn a bunch of languages, work as a translator, be a model and appear in magazines, be an interior designer, take my driving license, get a dog, live by myself, learn to play an instrument, learn boxing or karate, visit Japan and many other places, learn to dance… so many things…
And currently, I am sitting on my bedroom floor with little to no disposition to even do my assessments… my brain feels somehow heavy and empty at the same time… playing a sound similar to TV static in the background…
Why? How will I ever achieve everything that I want to? What should I do?

Oh I’m not playing static noise in the background… I meant that my brain is making this sort if noise when I try to focus

Oh. Okay. Please take a test for ADHD. I feel somewhat similar. And when I need to focus I listen to adhd concentration music and it’s the only thing that helps me.

ADHD has nothing to do with awareness. It’s all about trying really hard to concentrate on one thing. Then the mind starts to wander. It goes to a blank space. And then before you can snap back to reality …u end up feeling guilty for wasting time. You put all your efforts into concentrating on it this time but it’s never more than 10 mins. And that 10 mins of work feels like ufff omg. Enough for today

I thought ADHD is just that you can’t focus in general… like you can’t keep conversations cause your mind wanders and stuff like that
I have this problem only when I try to study, that’s why I didn’t consider it… I thought I’m just lazy or trying to avoid work…

You can focus if you want. It’s just that it’s more difficult than others. And it is draining more energy than others. Next time… before studying…go to youtube and search adhd relief binaural beats (yellow color thumbnail) wear earphones and try studying to this music. I can easily do 2 hours in one sitting

It sounds like you might have ADHD. I have it myself and have found myself in thought processes like that where I want to do EVERYTHING. Just mature and realize that in your life you just have to pace yourself and cant do everything. Do what you can, and pace yourself. You can do most of these things but definitily not quickly or without continued education. Its kinda hard but you have to make more secure decisions and not let your mind wander too much. Im enrolled in a university right now and Ive had to grow up a lot and calm my mind.

Oh I’m in Uni too… I overthink and postpone assessments so much that I have to resit 2 of them now… I’m disappointed in myself… but I kind of saw it coming somehow…
I literally was awake until 4 in the morning trying to write and essay for today and I wrote like 100 words… maybe not even that many… and I kept getting distracted + that I was tired af…
I feel helpless…

Find places that you can study/work easily in. If you notice that you can concentrate better when your in the car, or in a library, or at a desk, or sitting outside, do that. You gotta find what works for you. Universities aren’t made to teacher ADHD people, so you got to work to see what helps you. Youre bed is not a good place to do work for example. And with your essay, just dont overthink it. Type some things down, do your research/make your statements and then fix it up afterwards. Also you can find a tutor at ur university which could help, and maybe see if you can find one who also has adhd. My writing tutor has adhd like me lol and I didnt know until a few sessions in, but he understands me very well so it does really help.

Working in bed definitely doesn’t work :)) I know that now
I’m still not sure that I have ADHD… I don’t want to be all dramatic for nothing… but I will try all the tips I’ve received here so far and hopefully, something will work

I sometimes think about all the people that don’t know each other that are sat on their/floor or in bed that just need to motivation of someone saying they are ready to go do the same fun thing to actually get up and do it. Sometimes you’ve just got to find it in you to go for it, but way more easier said than done. Hope your assessment isn’t too bad x
