@mischiefmanaged990

I have creeping social anxiety and it is eating me up. I am hiding away at my home and becoming difficult to function and all bodily patterns getting affected. My studies, my work everything is affected. I can hardly trust people anymore due to previous mental health history. I am at my wits end.

Hi dear
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for opening up.
See,
Pls relax…
You are absolutely fine
Many of us have social anxiety
So that is ok…

Now take small small baby steps
U have to come out of the shell slowly slowly
Move out of ur house to do any small activity first
Like u may join some classes…
Any hobby, computer or yoga or zumba any class…
There u will meet new ppl
Try to interact very very casually
Break the ice first
Just simple conversations…
Remember
All are humans
We all have some imperfections
So be scared of NOONE
Be confident
Talk to ppl boldly…
Donot trust anyone too much
Dnt get emotionally attached
Keep it simple…

You first take the first step
Rest all will happen
You can do it
You will do it…
U are very strong.
Just makeup ur mind u want to break free from all inhibitions
U will be able to do that.
Take care
Wish u all the very best
God bless.

@kusum

N yes to add to

No exerting more pressure

I’m not a licensed medical professional so please take the below advise with a pinch of salt that can perhaps point you in the right direction. Let’s start with the positive - Anxiety can almost always be helped 😃

Cognitive Restructuring - Anxiety can be reduced by decreasing your perception of danger or by increasing your confidence in the ability to cope with threat. Evaluating anxious thoughts is helpful in order to more quickly and accurately evaluate the danger and its consequences.

Relaxation Training - Relaxation can be accomplished through either physical relaxation or mental relaxation. Both methods can be equally effective. When we are physically relaxed, mental relaxation follows and when we are mentally relaxed, physical relaxation follows.

Overcoming Avoidance - Avoidance is a hallmark of anxiety. When we avoid a difficult situation, we initially experience a decrease in anxiety. Ironically, the more we avoid a situation, the more anxious we become about facing it in the future.

Even though the above is very general advise - perhaps it can give you a starting foundation of sorts to come to grip with regards to Social Anxiety. You can also check on the below link for professional assistance as well:
