The Harry Potter novels came to the author in her sleep, so maybe your next big idea will show up to you that way. You write right? Writing is done best with a well rested mind, try to have a routine before sleeping.
Maybe a warm tea an hour before, ready some ambient music, maybe watch some wordy science or history video on YouTube before bed. That helps me and I got ringing in my ears every night (what’s ur excuse lol, I’m just kidding)

sleep is difficult yeah. But in the words of my mum when I was little " have you tried rolling over or breathing through your mouth?" It’s strange but that can help me. then there is other stuff like nice smells, right weight of blankets, teddy bears (I don’t care that I’m 17 it helps keep my anxiety down) going to bed at different hours and ignoring your phone/laptop/bright lights. Maybe you need some noise? All I know is the best thing to do when you can’t sleep is don’t force it. Get up and wander for a while, read or something and after a while try again. I hope some of this helps you!
Thank you. I sleep with music on every night. Sometimes it helped and sometimes it doesn’t. I guess I’m an over thinker that’s why.
