How to stop overwhelming thoughts that creep up on you in the middle of the night? Every night I try to fall asleep on time because I have to be up early in the morning because my job is almost 2 hours away from my house, but I absolutely cannot fall asleep under any circumstances because my overwhelming thoughts just take up most of my mind space. I tried taking melatonin but I realised that I cannot take it for more than three days as it is something that can only be used to bring your sleep cycle back to its original state. If I use too much then I will fall sick and can even experience nausea. So how to stop overwhelming thoughts naturally? I even tried many training but it did not work, it just made me spiral even more. I feel like under no circumstances can I ever shut my mind. It is always awake, learning, planning, spiralling out of control. The problem is that I also share a room with my sibling. Both of us are grown adults, but I realise that I needs are very different. She likes to stay up at night but I cannot do that at all. I need my sleep but even with the slightest noise from home, I am wide awake and the third side back. How to stop overwhelming thoughts? Because the lack of sleep has started to affect my work as well. I come in sleepy every day and I am not able to focus. Please help.
