Hey, it’s indeed hard to let go of the person especially if the relationship was not toxic.
But here’s the hard truth; that’s exactly the reason why you can’t go back to him. In term of relationship, you better be with somebody who are willing to work along with you, not you to work things out for him without him being around, it doesn’t work like that. Maybe he doesn’t have the capacity to do so. The fact that he already have someone else is a very good reason to leave it all behind and accept it as a good memory.
He already has feelings for someone else, and you deserve to be loved someone as a whole. I assume by you’re saying you’re willing to do anything means you would change yourself; well that’s good for you, it means you’re growing. That’s what important. And you deserve someone who wants to put so much effort to the outcome of the better quality of your relationship.
