How not to feel lonely is something I have been wondering for a very long time, since high school I think! Being lonely is not a state of mind, contrary to what I used to believe. I feel it has more to do with your state of being. A while ago, the best way how not feel lonely which I could think of, was to stay occupied or keep your mind diverted. Like I know how pathetic it feels to be alone, especially when you can see all your β€œfriends” having fun and enjoying their lives and you are just sitting with a random book and a cup of coffee in your hand, curled up inside a blanket in your dark room, wondering what is wrong with you! It builds up this unbearable anxiety within you and makes you even question all of your life choices!!! It is terrible. Many people, people like me, even end up searching online about ways how not feel lonely and find content which either we have already thought of and tried or is entirely impractical and useless!! Nothing seems to fit in and work. I guess what I personally look for is a much more comprehensive method of dealing with the problem rather than avoiding it. It took me a long time to realise that the solution to how not to feel lonely is not to stop acknowledging your feelings, but rather appreciate and deal with them, maybe through therapy!! Therapy is the real deal here folks. It really works!! Which is why I would say if you are looking for ways to address your β€˜how not feel lonely’ problem, consider therapy.
