Hi guys… this sounds dumb, but I’m in 8th grade and I’m graduating this year. Due to the pandemic, my grade won’t be able to go on the camping trip we’ve all been waiting for since kindergarten. I know that I’m gonna sound ungrateful by typing this, but I really wanted to go. Also, I’m in a kindergarten through 8th grade school, so I’m going to high school next school year. I don’t want to graduate because I I love the small classes, the teachers and the community. Any ideas to help me cope…? Thanks :)

Hey! It’s really sad that you cannot go for which you’ve been waiting for years. This pandemic has been heavy on all of us. Many have died, many have lost their close ones. You don’t sound ungrateful and I know the feeling is genuine. But at this point you cannot do anything but move on. Maybe in coming years in high school you might have great friends and you’d go camping together? Think of it in a positive way, its for your as well as others safety.
I know that feeling really well about not leaving what we have behind. Trust me I’ve experienced it. But life moves on so do we. There awaits a beautiful journey ahead of you. Maybe when graduating high school you’ll write it here again, that I don’t want to graduate and leave this all behind :)
So my advice is to accept what life throws at you and move on with a positive note.
