Hey.
Iโm 17 and Iโm in a dilemma. Should I lose weight?
Iโm healthy and I accept my body. But after a friend of mine said to me โyou shouldnโt gain any more weight. Actually, you can lose a bitโ I started being a little self-conscious. Usually I donโt want to think about it much since I have an anorexic past but Iโm not so sure anymore.
Iโm 157 cm tall and 55 kg

As someone who has always been insecure about her body, let me tell you this, you are beautiful just the way you are. I think you have a normal healthy weight considering you are only 17! Remember these two things 1. De-emphasise numbers. Kilograms on a scale donโt tell us anything meaningful about the body as a whole or our health. Eating habits and activity patterns are much more important.
2. The sooner you are able to recognize and accept that NO BODY IS PERFECT, the easier it will be to start loving your body. By removing a standard by which you compare yourself to, you eliminate all those negative thoughts that can creep up on you. There will always be someone more [skinnier, toned, fit etc.]. And that is more than ok; because they will never be you! Simply strive to be the best version of yourself that you can be.
Stay happy, stay safe :)

No matter what others have to say about you, you should be comfortable and positive about your own body.
I have been called skinny multiple times and been told to gain more weight, but I donโt feel the need to do so because Iโm comfortable with who I am. It doesnโt matter if youโre fat or skinny, short or tall. It is completely okay to have flaws. Nobody is perfect. Always remember this.
Leave what others have to say. You are just perfect. Keep shining ๐ป
Sending so much love your way. As you have admitted you are healthy and your body can do the things you need it to do. Sometimes even our best friends can say things and make comments that arenโt at all helpful. Especially with a history of anorexia, I would very strongly discourage any weight-loss. From my own experience, it can be a very slippery slope leading to more problems while the self-consciousness doesnโt go away. Your friend is not your doctor and does not know the full picture. Take care.
