Hello.
Since I was a kid, I wasn’t used to speaking in front of many people. My parents have a very strong character and they are good at public speaking and an activist.

My parents were often tough on me, especially when I was shy and a lot of silence, unable to speak in front of people. I often feel depressed because of that. I feel indoctrinated that I am a failure because I can’t be like my parents. This continued until I was an adult. I became a person who is not used to expressing opinions. I’m still afraid to speak in front of people because I often see my parents who feel disappointed in me. I feel scared every time I talk because I can’t be as perfect as my parents.
I also always wanted to be good at public speaking but this really scared me.

What should I do?

The only thing you can do is to change yourself. Ofc it isnt that easy. But you have to do it. You have to be active in your life. First of all dont get depressed okay. Its fine its not only you who find difficulties in expressing your views to others. the reason why you cant do it bcoz you might be thinking that they wont like your opinion. But that shouldn’t make you stop bcoz ofc you r the only person who’s opinion matters. Be productive. You can watch some motivational speaker videos so that it can inspire you a bit. The confidence that i had (my personal experience) was created bcoz i kept my mind away from the things bothering me and started doing different things. Other way is you can watch series that can inspire your speaking abilities. Dont worry everything will be fine

You can try learning to gain confidence to speak in public and express your opinions, could be by watching youtube tutorials, or going to a public speaking course. It may not be easy at first, but you could try!! Learn it little by little, it’ll grow bigger eventually
