HAPPY PRIDE MONTH ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
Hi Everyone,
Wishing you all a very happy pride. The reason we celebrate this month is to support self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of the LGBTQQIA+ community.
I actually had a question to ask: Lately, Iโve been seeing a lot of brands convert their logo into a rainbow-coloured version.
How do you feel about this gesture? And what does pride mean to you? Do you wish brands did something more than just changing their logo?
Iโd love to know your opinions and also learn how we, at an individual level & at Now&Me, can be better allies for the LGBT community ๐๐๐๐๐งก

Hi! As a part of the LGBTQIA community I have mixed feelings on the companies changing logos. I like it because it does bring awareness but some companies are using our precious month as a trend and to make more profit, that I hate. So idk! Loving the clothing in shops tho!
Sending love ๐

Hey there @lostandconfused ๐
Thank you so much for these insights, I understand where youโre coming from, and I think those are the exact same thoughts I had. But it helps, even more, to know directly from someone whoโs a part of the community.
I think, then my learning from this is that the genuineness & intention behind the actions matters more than anything else. ๐
Thank you!

At one instance, I feel thatโs really bold and amazingโฆ on the other I want to know if it flows down their organisational culture to love and support those who identify as LGBTQI+ ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธ

So true, I do like the spirit behind it too and the kind of visibility it provides. But definitely, what youโre saying about the organisational culture - THATโs what really matters.
most brands use this time to make everything rainbow and sunshine but the moment the month is over they withdraw from their so called support. what we want is a year round of inclusivity and equal opportunity and not just a month of commercialising off of us.
You guys are doing an amazing job for giving people like me a platform to speak on so thanks
ps. clothing stores just because we are queer we donโt you to rainbowfy everything
Bani Singh @banisinghvasir
Yep, thatโs so unfortunate but the harsh reality of how things are. I think even if companies sort of came forward with their overall policies & practices, as you mentioned, it could really make a difference beyond just month-long visibility - โA year-round of inclusivityโ, I think that would really set an example for society at large.
Iโm so glad you feel that way, I hope we continue to make this a safe space for all โค๏ธ
