Does anyone here feel that all the competitive exams needed to crack good universities are just exhausting and frustrating? Like I don’t want to compete, I want to live, but the world the f*ing forces me to compete for betterment. I just want to help and be helped. I hate being left behind and I hate leaving others behind. Why can’t we just all progress together?

You can always stop education at any level, even after ug. It’s not necessary. If u wanna continue, pursue it later. What more important that ,r u happy with it.ur job? That’s all matters.

That’s right I can take breaks and I don’t necessarily have to do it since I’m UG, but even after taking breaks it’s painful. I see people around me studying for hours and cracking these exams and getting their dream life. I mean I like that they work hard but I secretly envy them, not for cracking exams but for the level headedness and determination that they possess. I feel like I can never have it. It just feels overwhelming.

Im stuck in the vicious circle of competitive exams!!! I can very well understand what you mean. It can be extremely frustrating especially if you belong to the general category in India! You have to keep the end result in mind if thats what you always wanted to do in life, it will motivate you. If you’re doing it under some kind of pressure or you were pushed into it by parents or peer pressure then trust me its not worth it. Leave it and go do what you want to do with your life. If you want to your dream of say becoming an IAS officer, a doctor or a CA you will have to work for it and keep getting a reality check every now and then if you’re on the right track. Keep aside the negativity every time it gets you. Give yourself a deadline in terms of the attempts you want to make and decide that’s it and then move on. If thats what you’ve always wanted to do then give it your best shot and crack it! There’s no way out! You got this! You can do this! Good luck 💕

I’m not being pressured by any peer pressure or parents, I am pressuring myself and it isn’t working. I wish to study Masters in either Nanoscience or AI. And believe me, when it’s purely subject oriented, I absolutely love to do it. But when I feel like I’m in a rat race competing and sh*t, I absolutely resent it and can’t even study properly.

I get it how you feel. But competition is the harsh reality. That is something that is not in your hands. If u keep thinking about what’s beyond your control you’ll get demotivated and think you can never do this. You will have to accept it. You can look at it this way. The challenge is how badly you want what you want. There are other who want to do the same thing as you. They are also competing for the same thing! You have two options - you can either quit the rat race and do something else then or you can work hard everyday to get what you want. I agree with you and i know what you mean when u say what you say but those are just facts and if you really want to achieve it you’ll have to compete. There’s no other way. Or else you can find out places abroad (if u have the respurces) which have similar courses or look for programs that offer scholarships. There’ll be a way out and if you love what you do trust me all this pain and struggle will be worth it one day! ❤️

How do you do that when you can clearly see that things are meant to filter you out? Nature itself was made to kill us not for our survival. How do you enjoy the process of such great pain?

V @az78

It’s not just competitive exams which make me feel that way, I just feel like I’m falling behind in life in general

Trust me everyone feels this way! Sometime or the other. Just keep working hard. Take time for recreation and hobbies. Exercise! And keep doing bit by bit everyday to get to where you want. This is a phase you’ll get out of. Everyone has these days trust me! We just dont get to see it on a daily basis or not everyone shares. Some learn to cope faster than others. Talk. Talk to your parents, teachers and seniors who u feel confident about. Who can guide you and motivate you and give you the right guidance. The feeling of getting left behind is scary but its also delusional. Don’t let it get you! As long as you’re doing the best you can and working hard, you’ll definitely be in a good place! Its just a matter of time!

Yeah it’s all good and shining until one falls in the loop and get stuck, losing every support friends moments and everything only for the sake of dreams. This isn’t fair but it definitely is worth it, so competition is not a good criteria to achieve the dreams but our government fails to provide us that much seats, so we compete against the brains and against the corruption. I myself am an aspirant and trying to get what i think i deserve but i am empty emotionally.

I’m not against working hard, in fact I love working hard, but only for the things that I love to do. If I ever feel so goal oriented. I feel I’d be better off dead than studying like this. I will give my day and night to do something I truly love to do, but this concept of forcefed misery seems despicable to me
