A few day ago, one of my friends sarcastically commented about the art teacher(Male) that he is on his periods because he was in a shitty mood. I said her not to say that because such kinda jokes are used as a snide and funny remark to undermine women whenever they voice out their strong opinions. She is the one who says that she is very liberal and she just told me not to overreact so much and take everything. so seriously. My opinion is that when we make such jokes even at such a small level, we make it okay for others to make the joke. I’ve heard so many men make the remark-Lol. Calm down, are you on your periods or what?. It’s like saying women just yell around uselessly when they are on their periods. Am I really overreacting?
